My name is Geli(like Kelly with a G) and I’m a mom to three lively, beautiful children -Mariah(14), Joey (8) & Abbey (2). I’ve been married for ten years to my best friend, Tim. I’ve had many jobs – a waitress, manager, co-owner of a coffee shop, cake decorator, etc. What can I say?….I haven’t figured out what to be when I grow up. Wait, I guess we should add amateur baker & editor to the list.
I will let it be known that I’m not a great baker or cook. I’m adequate in that I can prepare food without making anyone sick and I can follow a basic recipe and get decent results. Why the food blog then? I have the job of editing my dad’s cookbook(Sex & the Salad) and publishing it on Amazon. Before I do this I wanted to see how functional the cookbook was. Have you ever seen a picture of something that looked so good you just HAD to make it? You get the ingredients, follow the recipe exactly and an hour later you are wondering where it all went wrong? Well I have. Many times. Actually more times than I care to think about. That is why I’ve decided to make the recipes in the cookbook, get comments & suggestions for the recipes gone wrong, take pictures and post about my experiences. My goal is to get through this with good edible food not masterpieces, so my pictures won’t be fancy or retouched. I promise to share the good, the bad and the truly disastrous.
In addition to recipes, I’ve decided to change the blog up a bit. I will be making and taking pictures of recipes, but I will also be writing about anything else that interests me(and hopefully you). Im looking forward to my new “adventure” and I hope you guys have fun too!
